2024 CPKC Holiday Train: Schedule, Performances & More
As the holiday spirit fills the air, the 2024 CPKC Holiday Train is set to embark on its 26th annual journey, brightening the festive season across Canada and the U.S. This spectacular event, running from November 21 through December 20, not only spreads holiday cheer but also plays a crucial role in supporting communities by raising funds, food, and awareness for those struggling with food insecurity.
A Journey of Generosity and Joy
Since its inaugural journey in 1999, the CPKC Holiday Train has become a beacon of giving and festive joy. Over the past 25 years, it has raised over $24.3 million. It has also collected around 5.3 million pounds of food. This aid supports community food banks in both Canada and the U.S.
Further, each year, the train crosses the continent. It makes stops at numerous cities and towns. At each stop, local food banks receive donations.
A Moving Concert for a Cause
One of the highlights of the Holiday Train is the live music performances that take place right on a stage set upon the train itself. Talented musicians from various genres come together to offer free concerts, adding to the festive atmosphere.
Also, these performances do more than entertain. They encourage attendees at each stop to contribute. People can donate money or heart-healthy foods to local food banks.
