DL Chicken Teams Up With Toronto Horror Artist Trevor Henderson for a Halloween Takeover

Toronto’s DL Chicken is getting a Halloween makeover this October through a limited edition collaboration with Toronto horror artist Trevor Henderson, creator of the viral internet phenomenon Siren Head.
The collaboration launches October 7 and runs throughout the month at DL Chicken Toronto, located at 538 Manning Avenue.
For the takeover, Henderson reimagined DL Chicken’s signature chicken mascot as an original monster created exclusively for the restaurant. The artwork will appear on limited edition long sleeve shirts, custom takeout boxes and stickers, while the Toronto restaurant will feature decor inspired by Henderson’s creepy and surreal style.

A New Trevor Henderson Sando
The collaboration also introduces a limited time Trevor Henderson Sando.
The sandwich features crispy fried chicken spiced to your liking, fennel and cabbage slaw tossed in DL Chicken’s Black Out Slaw dressing, black garlic emulsion and roasted red peppers.
The Trevor Henderson Sando is priced at $13.49.
Guests can also order the Trevor Henderson Combo for $20.99. The combo adds fried Brussels sprouts tossed in DL Chicken’s classic Grandma’s Dressing and finished with balsamic reduction and puffed wild rice.
Fans Can Create the Monster’s Backstory
DL Chicken is also launching a Chicken Lore Competition tied to Henderson’s new creature.
Guests are invited to create an original backstory for the monster for a chance to win a $250 DL Chicken gift card and a limited edition Trevor Henderson shirt signed by the artist.
The competition runs through October 31, with entry details available through DL Chicken’s social channels.
Trevor Henderson and Siren Head
Henderson is a Toronto based horror illustrator, writer and creature concept artist.
He is best known as the creator of Siren Head, along with original creatures including Cartoon Cat and Long Horse. Henderson is also the author and illustrator of Scholastic’s Scarewaves horror series.
According to the announcement, Siren Head is currently being developed as a feature film by Warner Bros., with Zach Cregger and Brian Duffield attached to co-write the project, and Duffield is set to direct.
The idea for the DL Chicken collaboration began after restaurateur Doug Stephen’s monster-loving son introduced him to Henderson’s creatures. That interest eventually led to the restaurant reaching out to Henderson and creating a monster of its own.
