Toronto’s downtown nightlife scene has welcomed a new piano lounge offering live music, cocktails and food throughout the evening. Darling Girl opened in October 2026 at 44 Wellington Street East, taking over the former Pravda Vodka Bar space near the St. Lawrence Market neighbourhood.

The new venue comes from the team behind Jean Darlene Piano Room, including restaurateurs Fadi Hakim and Arie Dimant. While Jean Darlene is known for its intimate piano lounge atmosphere, Darling Girl introduces a larger space with live performances, dancing and a more elaborate entertainment experience.

From Pravda Vodka Bar to Darling Girl

Darling Girl brings new life to the former Pravda Vodka Bar, a downtown nightlife destination that operated for nearly two decades.

The owners have redesigned the interior while keeping some details from the original space, including its distinctive entrance.

Inside, the lounge features herringbone floors, marble finishes, gold accents and two grand pianos. The larger layout allows for several performance areas, giving guests different ways to enjoy the evening.

For Hakim and Dimant, the goal was to create more than a traditional cocktail bar by bringing music, food and live entertainment together in one venue.

Live Piano, Music and Dance Performances

Entertainment is a major focus at Darling Girl.

The venue features live piano music, a backing band and singers, along with choreographed dance performances.

Guests may also see aerial performances and dancers throughout the evening. Multiple stages allow the venue to host different entertainment experiences within the same space.

Visitors who enjoy singing can also participate in live-band karaoke experiences, depending on the evening’s programming.

Compared with the smaller Jean Darlene Piano Room on Dundas Street West, Darling Girl offers a larger setting for music and late-night entertainment.

Cocktails and Passed Appetizers

Unlike many piano lounges that focus mainly on drinks, Darling Girl also serves food throughout the evening.

According to opening coverage, the venue introduced a $25 cover charge that includes passed appetizers during the night.

The food selection has included sliders, spring rolls and prosciutto on toast, giving guests something to enjoy while watching the performances.

Darling Girl also offers cocktails and other bar drinks, creating a setting that feels closer to a cocktail party with live entertainment.

Guests should confirm the current cover charge, food offerings and entertainment schedule before visiting, as these details may change.

A New Nightlife Experience in Downtown Toronto

With its combination of live piano music, performances, cocktails and small bites, Darling Girl adds another nightlife option to Toronto’s downtown entertainment scene.

The venue is located near the St. Lawrence Market neighbourhood and offers an alternative for people looking for an evening focused on live entertainment rather than a traditional nightclub.

Darling Girl has advertised Friday and Saturday evening programming, with doors opening at 9 p.m. Visitors should check the venue’s latest updates before planning a night out.
