American YouTuber Jack Doherty has made headlines once again, but this time, it’s for all the wrong reasons. The 20-year-old streamer, known for his risky stunts and controversial behavior, crashed his brand-new McLaren 570S, valued at $300,000, after losing control on a wet road.

What makes the incident even more shocking is that he was reportedly live streaming at the time, with footage suggesting that he was looking at his phone before the crash occurred.

Doherty, streaming to 185,000 viewers on Kick, seemed distracted by his chat while driving on a rain-soaked road, with rap music playing. The footage shows the moment the car skidded into a barrier, followed by Doherty’s panicked shout: “Oh no!”

The crash, widely shared on social media, captures Doherty and his passenger, Michael, dealing with the aftermath.

Michael, visibly injured with blood on his face, sat stunned while Doherty focused on his wrecked car. “Bro, my whole car, bro,” he said, staring at the ruined McLaren with its custom paintball splatter and modified exhaust.

The Controversial Figure Faces Consequences

Both men were taken to the hospital following the crash. Fortunately, the injuries did not appear to be life-threatening, though the situation could have been much worse given the circumstances. Despite this, Doherty’s focus on his ruined car rather than his passenger’s injuries has sparked a wave of criticism online.

Following the crash, Doherty was banned from Kick, where he had a large following. This isn’t his first controversy—he was recently criticized for hitting baseballs off a building roof.

Fans and critics alike are left questioning the limits of content creators’ pursuit of viral fame. As one viewer put it, “How far is too far?”

With his McLaren destroyed and his Kick account banned, it remains to be seen what the future holds for Jack Doherty.
