Cake Picnic Toronto Returns September 19 With Hundreds of Cakes
Toronto’s cake lovers have another date to save this fall.
Cake Picnic is inviting hundreds of enthusiasts to spend an afternoon of sweet treats, new connections, and outdoor fun, all centred around one essential ingredient: cake.
Organized by Le Dolci Culinary School, the third-annual gathering will happen on September 19, 2026 (Saturday). Tickets went live August 14, 2026 (Friday), giving guests the chance to secure a spot before the sweet event fills up.
Note: Event details are subject to change. Readers are encouraged to check the official pages of Le Dolci Culinary School for the latest updates before attending.

A Picnic Where Cake is the Main Event
The idea is simple: every attendee brings a homemade cake to share. From there, guests spread out on picnic blankets, meet other baking fans and sample slices from cakes made by people with different skills, backgrounds, and traditions.
Cake Picnic will take place from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at a secret downtown Toronto location. The exact venue will be shared with ticket holders, keeping some of the event’s surprise intact.
The event welcomes everyone, whether they bake every week or are still learning how to decorate their first layer cake.
Le Dolci founder Lisa Sanguedolce said the gathering is meant to create a space where people can connect through something as simple as baking and sharing.
“Cake Picnic brings people together, in person, for a joyful celebration of the love of baking, cake decorating and sharing with others – it’s such an uplifting and cheerful experience.”
The event has already attracted guests from across Canada. Sanguedolce said past cakes have included a samosa cake, a two-tier mango cake and a peach coulis cake finished with Lambeth-style piping. She also pointed to the personal stories behind many of the desserts, including family recipes and cakes inspired by cultural traditions.
What to Expect on September 19
The afternoon goes beyond cake tasting, with several activities planned around the picnic.

More Than a Dessert Event
Cake Picnic has grown from a small local gathering into a community event with a wider reach. Le Dolci’s 2026 plans follow two Cake Picnics held in Toronto in 2025, which brought together bakers and cake lovers from the city and beyond.
The community focus has earned recognition. CityPlace and Fort York received a 2025 Toronto Association of Business Improvement Areas recognition award for Cake Picnic TO under the Events Award category.
Mary Fragedakis, Executive Director of CityPlace and Fort York BIA, said the event helps create connections while giving visitors another reason to explore the neighbourhood.
“Cake Picnic is exactly the kind of event that brings a neighbourhood to life. It creates opportunities for people to gather, meet new friends, celebrate creativity, and enjoy a shared experience together. We’re excited to welcome visitors from across the GTA and beyond to CityPlace and Fort York, while showcasing our beautiful community and supporting local businesses.”
With more than 400 cakes expected, September 19 could turn a downtown picnic into one of Toronto’s biggest cake tables. If you have been waiting for a reason to bake something ambitious, Cake Picnic Toronto could be it.
Tickets are now available via Le Dolci Culinary School’s website, so anyone planning to join should be ready with a cake, a serving tool, and an appetite for a few new favorites.
