Ossington is getting a different kind of culture this September. The Activia Toronto pop-up runs at 45 Ossington Avenue on September 18 and 19, giving the brand’s Canadian relaunch a local stop.

There is more to the update than a different label. Activia is introducing a triple-benefit formula, removing gelatin from its core products and reducing its sugar profile. According to Danone Canada’s relaunch announcement, the aim is to make daily gut-health support simpler to work into everyday eating.

Here is what is changing, what to check on the packaging and when to head over.

Activia Toronto Pop-Up Dates And Hours

The launch’s event information lists the following location and opening hours:

  • Location: 45 Ossington Avenue, Toronto
  • Friday, September 18, 2026: 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Saturday, September 19, 2026: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Friday leaves room for an after-work visit, while Saturday starts earlier and closes earlier. Confirm admission and registration arrangements with Activia before making a special trip.

What The Triple-Benefit Formula Includes

Activia groups the new formula’s benefits into three areas:

  • Gut health: Billions of active probiotics, including Bifidobacterium lactis, contribute to healthy gut flora.
  • Essential nutrients: The yogurt is a source of calcium and vitamins A and D.
  • Immune support: Vitamin A contributes to the normal function of the immune system. These claims and their supporting notes are outlined on the Activia Canada website.

The distinction is useful when reading the packaging: the three benefits do not all come from probiotics. The immune-support claim specifically relates to vitamin A, while the probiotic cultures contribute to healthy gut flora.

Gelatin Is Out, But Dairy Is Still In

Activia says it has replaced gelatin with plant-derived pectin across its core products. For shoppers who avoid gelatin, that is a specific ingredient change to look for.

It does not make the yogurt plant-based, though. The current Vanilla Probiotic Yogurt ingredient list includes skim milk, milk proteins and cream, alongside pectin. The change concerns the ingredient used in place of gelatin, not the removal of dairy.

Check the exact flavour and format against your dietary requirements rather than assuming a change to one ingredient changes the whole product. Start with the ingredient list on the container you are buying.

A Closer Look At The Sugar Content

Danone’s Canadian relaunch announcement puts the new recipe at 9 grams of sugar per 100-gram serving. The current vanilla product page lists the same amount per 100 grams.

That is not the same as sugar-free or no added sugar: cane sugar still appears in the vanilla ingredient list. Its nutrition panel also lists 4 grams of protein and 125 milligrams of calcium per 100 grams. Those figures are specific to that product and serving size.

When comparing yogurts, line up the serving sizes first. A larger portion can show a larger sugar number even when the amount per 100 grams is identical. Use the full Nutrition Facts table to compare like with like, rather than judging the front of the pack alone.

Where The Updated Yogurt Is Rolling Out

Danone says the updated range is arriving at major grocery retailers across Canada in multipacks and 650-gram tubs, with no change to the suggested retail price. Activia also remains prepared in Canada using milk sourced entirely from Canadian dairy farms.

The company identifies Activia as Canada’s top-selling probiotic yogurt brand, citing Nielsen dollar-sales data for the 52 weeks ending March 21, 2026. Its No. 1 family-doctor recommendation claim for probiotic yogurt is based on a 2024 blinded survey.

For shoppers, the practical takeaway is that the recipe update is not limited to the Toronto event. Check the product information on the pack when you shop, particularly during the rollout.

A Toronto Stop For The Canadian Relaunch

The Ossington pop-up puts a local date on the announcement, but the ingredient changes are the part shoppers can look for beyond the two-day event. For anyone planning to stop by, keep the different hours handy: Friday runs until 7 p.m., while Saturday wraps up at 5 p.m. For your next grocery run, give the ingredient list and serving size a second look before reaching for your usual flavour.
