Toronto Happy Hour Deals: 6 Spots for Oysters, Tacos and Late-Night Drinks

Toronto happy hour deals don’t all follow the same clock. Some start early enough for an afternoon snack. Others begin when dinner service is winding down.

These six Toronto spots offer oysters, tacos, pub bites and late-night options. A tip from Your Vibe, a local happy-hour map, put the venues on our radar. We checked their published menus and kept the offers with usable details.

Jump Restaurant: Oyster deals after lunch

Jump works well for a Financial District stop before the evening rush. Its regular happy hour runs Monday to Friday from 2 to 6 p.m. The oyster offer is the main reason to pay attention to the day of the week.

Monday through Thursday brings half-price oysters during happy hour. On Fridays, oysters drop to $1 each from 2 p.m. until close with a bottle-of-wine purchase. Jump’s oyster terms explain the limit: 24 oysters per bottle, for dine-in guests and while supplies last.

The restaurant is at 18 Wellington Street West, inside Commerce Court. That makes it a practical stop for anyone already working or meeting downtown.

La Carnita (Eglinton): Fish tacos for $5

For a food-first deal in Midtown, La Carnita lists happy hour every day from 4 to 6 p.m. The menu keeps the prices straightforward: the fish taco is $5, and a Carnita Margarita is $10 for a two-ounce drink.

Other $5 options include LC Pilsner, Sol beer and a Tromba Blanco shot. That gives you a few ways to keep an early taco stop within a set budget. The Eglinton location is on Eglinton Avenue East near Yonge Street; confirm the participating menu when you arrive.

Gabby’s (Danforth): Pub snacks and $5 drinks

Gabby’s Danforth is a different kind of happy-hour stop. Think game screens, pub food and a menu that includes more than discounted drinks. The location lists weekday happy hour from 2 to 5 p.m. and again from 9 p.m. to midnight.

The posted drinks offer includes $5 selected draught beer, bar-rail drinks and five-ounce house wine. On the food side, the location lists $7 garlic cheese fingers, $10 poutine, $11 spinach and artichoke dip, and $14 chicken tenders.

Find it at 729 Danforth Avenue, close to Pape Station. Note that its specific weekday schedule differs from the chain-wide daily wording, so use the Danforth listing when planning.

La Plume Brasserie: Afternoon and after-dark deals

La Plume at The Well has an afternoon option almost every day. Happy hour runs Monday from 4 to 6 p.m. and Tuesday through Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. Its posted specials include $12 cocktails, $6 selected beer pints and $10 five-ounce glasses of wine.

There is also a later option Thursday through Saturday after 9 p.m. The Well After Dark menu lists $5 rail drinks, $6 selected beers, $8 wines and 30% off bar bites. That evening menu is served in the main-floor dining room, not Bonne Nuit.

Choose the afternoon window for an early table, or the later one if your plans start after dinner. The restaurant is at 453 Wellington Street West.

Pearl Diver: Oysters with a later weekend window

Pearl Diver puts oysters at the centre of its happy hour. Its menu includes the Diver’s Dozen and other dozen-oyster combinations, plus $8 one-ounce cocktails, Wellington pints and wine on tap.

The main Pearl Diver happy-hour menu lists Tuesday through Thursday from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday add another window from 9 p.m. until close. Sunday happy hour runs from 4 to 9 p.m.

The oyster prices vary between menu pages on the restaurant website, so confirm the current dozen price before ordering. Pearl Diver is at 100 Adelaide Street East in the St. Lawrence area.

Cassette: A happy hour that starts at 10 p.m.

Cassette at Gladstone House is for people making plans later in the evening. The Queen West venue lists happy hour Tuesday through Saturday from 10 p.m. until late, rather than a typical post-work time slot.

The offer covers house spirits, Gladstone lager, Steam Whistle and house wine. Cassette also advertises select $30 bottles on Wine Wednesday. There are live events at the venue, so check the programming if you want a quieter table.

You will find Cassette at 1214 Queen Street West. Walk-ins are welcome, but some performances require tickets. The venue is closed Sundays and Mondays.

Before you go

Happy-hour schedules can differ by location, dining room and day. Check the venue menu before setting out, especially for late-night offers or specials tied to a food purchase. Budget for tax and any applicable service charge, too.

The most useful deal is the one that fits the hour you can actually get there. Pick your neighbourhood and timing first, then decide between oysters, tacos, pub snacks or a later round.
