The Former PG Clucks Space Becomes Loomi Pita Bakery in Little Italy

· ·

A familiar spot in Toronto’s Little Italy has a new name and a different menu. Loomi Pita Bakery opened in October 2026 at 610 College Street, replacing the original location of PG Clucks, a fried chicken restaurant that closed earlier this year.

The new bakery is operated by Pawel and Steph Grezlikowski, the couple behind PG Clucks. Instead of traditional fried chicken sandwiches, their latest concept focuses on freshly baked sourdough pita filled with a variety of meats, vegetables and housemade sauces.

Why Did PG Clucks Close?

PG Clucks announced its closure in July 2026 after serving Toronto customers for approximately 10 years.

The owners pointed to increasing food costs and the difficulty of maintaining their sandwich prices. Both the College Street and Queen Street West locations closed, bringing an end to the original fried chicken business.

However, the couple decided to keep the small College Street space and introduce something new.

Loomi Pita Bakery marks a change in direction, offering a menu built around fresh bread and Mediterranean-inspired ingredients.

The main attraction at Loomi is its sourdough pita, baked fresh throughout the day.

Customers can choose from several fillings, including chicken shawarma, falafel, sabich, merguez sausage, and braised brisket.

For those who miss PG Clucks, fried chicken has also made its way onto the new menu. The fried chicken pita features harissa honey, tahini, and labneh ranch.

Vegetarian options include falafel and sabich, while customers looking for something other than a sandwich can explore hummus bowls and plates.

The bakery also prepares several ingredients in-house, including sauces and pickles.

A New Chapter on College Street

Loomi operates from the same approximately 200-square-foot space that once housed the original PG Clucks.

The small takeout bakery keeps the owners connected to the neighbourhood where their previous restaurant first gained popularity.

With its focus on fresh pita and a different selection of fillings, Loomi offers another casual food option for people exploring Toronto’s Little Italy.
