Stefano Faita’s BYOPasta Pop-Up Brings Free Pasta Sauce to Ossington
The one-day Toronto counter asks guests to bring cooked pasta, then supplies one of five sauces at no charge.

A container of plain cooked pasta is the starting point for a one-day food pop-up coming to Ossington Avenue. On Tuesday, September 29, chef and restaurateur Stefano Faita’s sauce brand plans to open BYOPasta at 135 Ossington Avenue, where guests can bring their own pasta and have it finished with one of five sauces for free.
The takeout-style counter is scheduled to run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The organizers describe it as Toronto’s first bring-your-own-pasta restaurant, though the project is a single-day promotional event rather than a permanent restaurant opening.
How BYOPasta works
Guests bring cooked pasta, choose a sauce and hand the dish to the BYOPasta team to finish. No purchase price is listed for the service: the sauce is complimentary during the event. The release does not specify portion limits, accepted container types, reheating procedures, registration or line capacity.
For the latest operating details before travelling, check the event’s official BYOPasta Instagram account. The press release names no reservation system, so readers should not assume a guaranteed serving or a specific wait time.
Five sauces are on the counter

The pop-up menu covers five jars from the Stefano line: Alla Vodka, Tomato Basil, Marinara, Rosée and Alfredo. That gives guests a mix of tomato-forward and cream-based options rather than one fixed preparation.
The brand says its tomato sauces are cooked in Canada using Italian tomatoes and contain no added sugar or preservatives. Individual recipes differ, particularly the cream-based sauces, so anyone managing allergies or dietary restrictions should review the ingredient information on the official Stefano Faita sauce pages and confirm handling at the event.
A coupon adds a second free sauce
According to the release, each guest who brings pasta will also receive a coupon exchangeable for one complimentary Stefano Faita sauce at participating Ontario grocery retailers. The announcement names Loblaws, Metro, Sobeys, Walmart, Longo’s, Fortinos and Farm Boy among the chains where the coupon may be accepted.
The release does not provide the coupon’s expiry date, participating-store list or other redemption terms. Guests should read the coupon conditions before making a separate trip to a retailer.

Stefano Faita’s restaurant and retail background

Faita grew up in Montreal’s Little Italy and later entered the restaurant business with chef Michele Forgione. Their restaurants include Impasto, Pizzeria Gema, Chez Tousignant and Vesta, according to the brand’s official company history. The pair’s grocery line followed, with ready-to-eat tomato sauces launching in 2017.
For Toronto, BYOPasta is less a conventional restaurant launch than a live product trial built around a common fridge problem: leftover pasta without sauce. The format turns that practical premise into a short lunch service on a street already accustomed to food pop-ups.
