Pistachio Dubai Chocolate Bar Recall in Canada: Salmonella Contamination Concerns
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has issued a voluntary recall for Oasis Treasures’ Pistachio Dubai Chocolate bar due to potential Salmonella contamination. This popular chocolate product is sold at Showcase stores across Canada.

Recall Details
The affected chocolate bars are 340 grams in size, with a best-before date of July 25, 2025, marked as “25JL25” on the label. The UPC code is 8 02962 40190 7. These products were distributed across multiple provinces, including Alberta, Ontario, and British Columbia.
Reason for the Recall
The contamination was identified during routine testing, prompting the manufacturer, Palm Bites Canada, to voluntarily recall a small batch of 810 units produced in one day. Food safety investigations are ongoing, and additional recalls may follow.
Health Risks of Salmonella
Salmonella can cause serious gastrointestinal illnesses, with symptoms such as diarrhea, fever, and stomach cramps. These symptoms often appear six hours to six days after consuming contaminated food. While most people recover without treatment, the infection can be severe for children, the elderly, and individuals with weakened immune systems.
What Consumers Should Do
- Do not consume or serve the recalled product.
- Return the product to the store for a refund or dispose of it immediately.
- Sanitize surfaces and utensils that may have come into contact with the chocolate.
- Seek medical attention if you suspect illness after consuming the product.
CFIA’s Advisory
The CFIA advises that food contaminated with Salmonella may appear normal but is still dangerous. Consumers experiencing symptoms should contact their healthcare provider. The agency is actively monitoring the situation and conducting further investigations.
