For a brand better known for ketchup and other condiments, the move adds a different kind of lunch option. The soups also go beyond the canned tomato variety already associated with HEINZ.

The lineup ranges from chicken noodle and mushroom to coconut curry and butternut squash. Its main departure from a regular soup can, though, is the packaging.

HEINZ Soup Collection: Quick Details

All Six HEINZ Soup Flavours

HEINZ is introducing familiar lunch options alongside a few recipes that lean on vegetables, spices and coconut milk. Here is what each bag contains.

  • Homestyle Chicken Noodle (370 mL). Chicken-and-vegetable broth comes with noodles, pieces of white chicken meat, carrots and celery. This is the straightforward pick for shoppers who usually reach for traditional chicken noodle soup.
  • Thai Style Chicken Coconut Curry (380 mL). This recipe combines coconut milk, cooked chicken, red peppers and ginger. HEINZ also lists tomatoes, carrots and spinach among its ingredients, giving the range a coconut-based chicken option.
  • Hearty Tomato and White Bean (370 mL). Navy beans join tomatoes, carrots, zucchini, celery and kale in this tomato-led recipe. The added beans and vegetables distinguish it from a smoother tomato soup.
  • Cheesy Potato (370 mL). Potatoes, cream, parmesan cheese and chives are central to this recipe. It is the cheese-forward option among the six soups, with a dairy-based ingredient list.
  • Rich Mushroom (380 mL). Mushrooms take the lead alongside onions, garlic, chives and cream. The ingredient list also includes mushroom broth, making it distinct from the collection’s chicken and tomato recipes.
  • Curry Butternut Squash (370 mL). Butternut squash, carrots, coconut milk and spices form this vegetable-focused recipe. It is the second coconut milk-based soup in the range, with squash rather than chicken at its centre.

How The Bagged Soup Works

HEINZ is positioning the bags as a convenient option for quick lunches and busy evenings. No can opener is needed, and the soups do not require added water or other ingredients.

The brand’s Canadian product instructions say to pour the soup into a bowl or saucepan before heating. Shoppers can then use a microwave or stovetop; the directions do not tell them to heat the bag itself.

The packaging sizes are not identical. Four recipes come in 370 mL bags, while Thai Style Chicken Coconut Curry and Rich Mushroom contain 380 mL. Anyone checking dietary needs should read the individual labels for ingredients and allergens.

Where To Buy HEINZ Soup in Canada

Kraft Heinz says the collection will roll out nationwide throughout October 2026. It has not provided a complete store-by-store schedule or a national suggested retail price in the launch announcement.

Metro currently lists all six flavours online. As of October 14, its regular listed price is CA$5.99 per bag, though individual store prices, promotions and stock can differ.

A New Approach To a Familiar Grocery Aisle

The company is entering a category where traditional cans remain common. According to NIQ retail data cited by Kraft Heinz, more than 80 per cent of ready-to-eat and condensed soups are still sold in cans.

Kraft Heinz also points to NIQ household data indicating that 76 per cent of Canadians buy soup. The launch gives those shoppers another packaging format without changing the basic task of heating a serving.

The new HEINZ soups are arriving in Canadian stores during October. Check your nearby grocer for stock and current prices before heading out.
