Ramen is already a late-night favorite, but Asahi Super Dry is giving the Japanese staple a new Canadian twist.

The brand has teamed up with renowned chef Susur Lee to create an exclusive Super Dry Ramen, a limited-time dish inspired by the crisp, dry taste of Asahi Super Dry.

The bowl will not be available through a regular restaurant menu. Instead, Canadians will have to take part in a series of Tokyo Nights events and contests for a chance to taste it.

Note: Event details are subject to change. Readers are encouraged to check Asahi Canada’s official Instagram page for the latest updates before attending.

A New Take on a Japanese Classic

Renowned chef Susur Lee is at the centre of Asahi Super Dry’s latest food collaboration. Lee is creating an exclusive Super Dry Ramen, giving the familiar Japanese dish a new interpretation through his signature culinary style.

The limited-time creation takes inspiration from the crisp, dry taste of Asahi Super Dry while adding the beer’s character to a dish closely tied to Japan’s late-night food culture.

The ramen will make its debut this September at an invite-only dinner at Lee Restaurant in Toronto. Because it is part of the Asahi Super Dry experience, the dish will not be presented as a regular menu item. Access will come through a series of contests and unique nightlife events connected to the campaign.

Tokyo Nights Brings Hidden-Bar Energy to Canada

Before the ramen makes its debut, Asahi Super Dry is taking over select nightlife spots in Toronto and Vancouver with its Tokyo Nights event series.

The one-night-only experiences are inspired by the feel of Tokyo after dark, including hidden bars, underground culture, and the energy found in the city’s late-night streets. Each stop offers guests a different way to explore the campaign while building toward the final ramen reveal.

The events will take place at the following locations:

Vancouver

  • Meo — August 20 (Thursday)
  • Pizza Coming Soon — August 27 (Thursday)
  • Lala — September 9 (Wednesday)
  • Banter Room — September 10 (Thursday)
  • The Keefer Bar — September 17 (Thursday)

Toronto

  • Silent H — August 22 (Saturday)
  • Soluna — August 28 (Friday)
  • Bar Mordecai — September 9 (Wednesday)

The schedule gives nightlife fans several chances to take part, with each event limited to a single night.

For guests who attend one of the Tokyo Nights events, the experience could lead to something even more exclusive. Attendees will have the chance to win a seat at Chef Lee’s final dinner in Toronto.

Those selected will be among the first people to taste the Super Dry Ramen before the limited creation becomes part of the campaign’s wider contest and experience program.

The campaign’s concept suggests seeking out something different and discovering moments that may not be part of an ordinary night out, with the ramen collaboration extending that idea from the city streets to the dinner table.

With limited events and an exclusive dinner on the horizon, the best part may be seeing where the night takes you.
