Looking for a spot that satisfies your sweet cravings and offers a chic shopping experience? Look no further than Butter Baker, a French-inspired bakery in downtown Toronto known for its beautifully crafted pastries and desserts. And now, they’ve upped the game with their brand-new Waffle Café on Dundas, serving up delicious waffles, eggs benedict, and other mouthwatering breakfast items.

At Butter Baker, it’s not just about how good everything looks—although the Instagrammable factor is off the charts—it’s about the flavors. Every treat is made with premium, local ingredients, from their buttery croissants and delicate macarons to their rich mille-feuille and artisanal ice creams. Plus, their rotating seasonal specials (hello, pumpkin spice in the fall) keep things fresh and exciting year-round.

What We Tried

We went to the Butter Baker Waffle Cafe on Dundas and were blown away by their waffles. The salmon benedict and chocolate banana waffles were phenomenal, but the standout dish had to be the Sweet and Spicy Chicken Waffles. It was a creative take on the breakfast classic chicken and waffles. The waffles were perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside and the home fries were perfectly fried and seasoned. But the chicken was what sold me. The perfect balance of sweetness and spiciness from the sauce on the chicken paired perfectly with the waffles and home fries.
