Overview of the TCS Toronto Waterfront Marathon 2025

The Toronto Waterfront Marathon is one of Canada’s most prestigious road races, held annually in October. Established in 2000, it quickly gained recognition for its scenic route along Toronto’s waterfront and through vibrant city neighbourhoods.
Over the years, the marathon has attracted elite runners from around the world, becoming part of the World Athletics Elite Label Road Races. It has also played a key role in Canadian athletics, serving as the nation’s time-trial event during Olympic cycles.
Today, it’s celebrated for its community involvement, world-class organization, and festive atmosphere.
Though the in-person race was cancelled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the marathon returned stronger. This year, the event takes place over two days: the 5K on Saturday, October 18, and the half marathon and full marathon on Sunday, October 19, offering a full weekend of running excitement.
