Getting to the Marathon

Regardless if you are heading to the start line or one of the other prime spots, public transit is your best bet to navigate race day traffic. The TTC will be your main mode of transport, and luckily the subway starts at 6:00 AM on Saturday and 8:00 AM on Sunday – just in time to get to the best viewing areas. Pro tip: Download the TTC Trip Planner ahead of time to map out your route and avoid the traffic!

If you’re cycling, there are several Bike Share Toronto locations around the city. Plus, there are free bicycle parking spots near Nathan Phillips Square. However, keep in mind these spots fill up fast on race day. Those planning to drive are recommended to park north of Dundas St. for easier access.

The Best Spots to Cheer

Finding a good spot to cheer on the runners is crucial! Here are some of the best viewing locations:

  • Start Line – Catch the excitement as participants take off at University Ave. Cheer them on as they begin their journey!
  • Along the Route – Pick a spot along the course to see runners multiple times. The stretch along the waterfront is particularly lively.
  • Finish Line – The finish line at Bay St. is a fantastic place to witness the final moments as participants cross and experience the joy of completing their race.

Official Cheer Zones

There will be over 30 official cheer sites throughout the race. Check out these interactive maps for the Marathon & Half Marathon and 5K for specific cheer site locations and timing.

Shakeout Run & Final Prep

If you’re hanging out downtown on Friday, don’t miss the pre-race Shakeout run – a relaxed run for participants to loosen up before the big day. It’s a great chance to see runners get into the zone. Even if you’re not lacing up yourself, the excitement is infectious!
