On April 14, 2025, Katy Perry swapped the stage for a space capsule, becoming one of six women aboard Blue Origin’s New Shepard rocket. This suborbital trip lasted 11 minutes but marked a major milestone—it was the first all-female crewed spaceflight in over 60 years.

The launch took place in West Texas and was organized by Blue Origin, the aerospace company founded by Jeff Bezos. The goal: reach the edge of space, cross the Kármán line, and give passengers a few minutes of weightlessness before descending back to Earth.

  • Lauren Sanchez, Blue Origin VP and Bezos’ partner
