Demetres and Scooped by Demetres Launch Canadian-Inspired Dessert Collection in Toronto’s Distillery District
Demetres and Scooped by Demetres introduce a limited-time Canadian-inspired dessert program this July at their locations in Toronto’s Distillery Historic District. The program runs from July 1 to July 31, 2026. In addition, it combines seasonal dessert development with a fundraising initiative that supports Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada.
Throughout the month, Demetres directs a portion of sales from featured menu items toward mentorship programs for youth across Canada. As a result, each purchase supports both a dessert experience and a community initiative.

Seasonal Desserts Inspired by Canadian Ingredients and Traditions
The summer lineup highlights Canadian ingredients and familiar flavour profiles. However, each dessert uses a modern interpretation through layered textures and ice cream concepts.
Pretty In Pink

This dessert celebrates Ontario strawberry season. It features Strawberry Blush ice cream made with real strawberries infused with balsamic. In addition, it includes fresh strawberries, Belgian white chocolate sauce, and gold wafer pieces. The combination reflects peak summer fruit season across Ontario.
Face Pomme

This item draws inspiration from Canadian orchard baking. It combines baked apple crisp, cinnamon streusel, and butter caramel sauce. Meanwhile, it reinterprets a cheesecake-style structure through warm spice and fruit-forward layers.
The Great Canadian Butter Tart (Scooped by Demetres)

Scooped by Demetres launches this flavour on June 24. It uses a lightly salted sweet cream base. It also features house-made butter tart pieces and a maple caramel swirl. As a result, it highlights one of Canada’s most recognizable pastry traditions in a modern ice cream format.
Fundraising Initiative Supporting Youth Mentorship
Throughout July, Demetres allocates a portion of sales from Canadian-inspired items to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada. In addition, the initiative supports mentorship programs that connect young people with trained mentors across the country.
Meanwhile, these programs focus on guidance, confidence building, and long-term development. Therefore, each purchase contributes directly to community impact.
A Toronto Brand with Local Culinary Roots
Demetres began in Toronto in 1989 and has operated across the GTA for more than 35 years. Over time, the brand expanded its dessert offerings and built a strong local presence.
Scooped by Demetres extends this concept with small-batch ice cream and rotating seasonal flavours. In addition, it focuses on high-butterfat ice cream and experimental dessert profiles served in boutique-style locations.
Together, both brands continue to develop seasonal menus. They also highlight Canadian ingredients and evolving dessert trends across the city.
