Kalamansi Collective Welcomes Alex Eala to Toronto Ahead of National Bank Open
Toronto’s Filipino community is showing its support for tennis star Alex Eala as she arrives in the city for the National Bank Open.
Following her title win at the Mubadala Citi DC Open in Washington, Eala received a special welcome from Kalamansi Collective, a Toronto-based Filipino lifestyle brand focused on sharing Filipino stories through apparel, design, and community initiatives.
The brand presented Eala with a selection of its signature pieces, including staple caps, the “Not Today, Tita.” T-shirt, and the popular Filipino Party Leftovers totes.
Shortly after receiving the gift, Eala was photographed carrying the tote, creating a memorable moment for the Kalamansi Collective team and Toronto’s Filipino community.

A Gift Representing Filipino Stories
For Kalamansi Collective founder Kris Pangilinan, the gift was a simple way to welcome Eala while recognizing her achievements on the international tennis stage.

“We’ve been following Alex’s journey for years and have been incredibly inspired by everything she’s accomplished,” said Pangilinan.
“As a Toronto-based Filipino brand, we simply wanted to welcome her to the city with a few pieces that celebrate Filipino culture through humour and shared experiences.”
The items selected for Eala represent some of Kalamansi Collective’s most recognized designs. Each piece draws from everyday Filipino moments, family connections, and cultural references that many Filipinos around the world can relate to.
Toronto’s Filipino Community Supports Alex Eala

At just 21 years old, Eala has become one of the Philippines’ leading tennis players. Her recent Washington title added another achievement to her growing career and increased excitement around her National Bank Open appearance.
As Eala competes in Toronto, Kalamansi Collective hopes she feels the support of Filipino Canadians who are following her journey.
The brand has also invited Eala to attend Kalamansi Fest, its annual Toronto event celebrating Filipino culture. Her availability will depend on her tournament schedule.
