Rabba Roots Golf Classic Brings Grocery Partners Together in Brampton

· ·

The 28th annual tournament brought Rabba Fine Foods and its suppliers to Brampton Golf Club, with community giving placed alongside a full day of golf and hospitality.

Brampton Golf Club traded its usual greens for a strong streak of Rabba red as grocery companies, suppliers and community partners gathered for the 28th annual Rabba Roots Charity Golf Classic.

Held on Sep 14, 2026, the industry tournament gave Rabba Fine Foods a chance to recognize the companies behind its stores while drawing attention to the charities supported through the Rabba Roots Community Giving Program. Rabba served as lead sponsor.

A tournament built around local giving

Rabba describes the annual classic as both an industry gathering and a checkpoint for its community work. The event brings vendors and business partners together, but the larger purpose is tied to the organizations that receive support through Rabba Roots.

According to the company, the program contributed cash, products, real-estate space and staff time to a range of organizations during the previous year. The list included Trillium Health Partners, Food Banks Mississauga, Good Shepherd Ministries and The Grocery Foundation, along with local schools and other community groups.

That focus connects the tournament to a wider push across the food sector to address access and food insecurity. Hungry 416 recently covered Healthy Planet’s Good Food Drive, another campaign that joins retailers, suppliers and food-bank partners around community support

Grocery and beverage brands joined the course

Maple Leaf Foods, Lassonde, Coca-Cola and Italpasta were among the partners named by Rabba after the event. The company said new and long-standing suppliers attended, reflecting the network behind a regional grocer that operates around the clock across the GTA.

The day began with breakfast and registration before a 9 a.m. shotgun start. Cocktails, dinner and awards followed later in the afternoon, with a silent auction and live entertainment included in the program.

Rabba president Rick Rabba called the tournament a long-running tradition and said “our communities matter tremendously to us.” His statement framed supplier participation as part of the company’s broader community commitments rather than a one-day corporate outing.

The community need extends beyond tournament day

The local organizations named in Rabba’s release work across several areas, including health care, emergency services and access to food. Food Banks Mississauga says its citywide network includes more than 60 food programs and provides food for over 11.5 million meals each year. That scale offers useful context for the needs behind corporate giving programs in Peel Region.

Rabba did not disclose the total raised at the 2026 tournament, the event’s net proceeds or the final allocation for each beneficiary. Those figures should not be inferred from prior years. If the company releases a confirmed fundraising total or recipient breakdown, the article can be updated.
