Event Details:

Date: Saturday, October 5
Time: 2–4 PM
Location: 375 Colborne Lodge Dr, Toronto, ON M6S 0A4

What’s Happening?

We’ll be planting native grasses and wildflowers that play a crucial role in High Park’s ecosystems. Native plants support local wildlife, improve soil health, and help restore the natural balance of the park. Plus, you’ll get hands-on experience learning why these plants are so important and how they contribute to a thriving ecosystem.

It’s not just about digging and planting—it’s about community, education, and making a positive impact on our environment. No green thumb? No problem! We welcome everyone, no matter your skill level.

How to Join

Pre-registration is required for all events in High Park, including this one. We have limited spots, so please be sure to register ahead of time to secure your place. Walk-in spots aren’t guaranteed, and if the event reaches capacity, you can join the waitlist for updates on any new openings or sessions.

What to Bring:

  • Clothes you don’t mind getting dirty – because let’s face it, planting can get messy.
  • Weather-appropriate gear – dress for the elements so you stay comfortable while planting.

Extra Perk: Stewardship Rewards

This is a stewardship event, which means you’re not just planting—you’re helping preserve High Park’s unique environment. And there’s a bonus: if you attend 10 stewardship events, you’ll earn a free bandana. How cool is that?

Why Native Plants Matter

By planting native species, you’re supporting Toronto’s biodiversity and helping local ecosystems thrive. Native plants provide food and habitat for insects, birds, and other wildlife, and they’re naturally adapted to our climate, making them more resilient and easier to care for.
