KD Enters the Ramen Aisle with a New Cheddar-Based Lineup in Canada

· ·

Kraft Dinner (KD) is introducing a new product line in Canada called KD Ramen, marking the brand’s entry into the ramen category while keeping its core cheddar-based flavour identity.

The launch brings KD’s signature taste into a different format, positioning the product within the growing demand for quick-prepare meals that combine familiar flavours with new formats. KD Ramen will be available exclusively in Canada beginning this July across grocery stores, convenience outlets, and major retail chains.

Product Direction

The development of KD Ramen reflects the rising presence of ramen-based food combinations in consumer behaviour, particularly variations that incorporate cheese. Social platforms have played a key role in popularizing these hybrid formats, influencing how consumers experiment with instant noodles and flavour pairings.

KD Ramen keeps the brand’s cheddar foundation while introducing ramen-style seasoning profiles and heat levels designed for different preferences.

The launch includes three variants:

  • Cheesy Ramen – Combines KD cheddar flavour with ramen seasoning and a light spice profile.
  • Extra Cheesy – Focuses on a stronger cheese profile with no added spice.
  • Extra Spicy – Adds heat while maintaining a creamy cheese base to balance the flavour.

Each option is built on the same core ingredient base, using Canadian cheddar cheese consistent with Kraft Dinner’s existing product line.

Early Access Activation With 7-Eleven Canada

Before national retail availability, Kraft Dinner is partnering with 7-Eleven Canada for a limited sampling program. From June 25 to June 27, select locations in Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, and Winnipeg will offer free evening tastings between 9 p.m. and 12 a.m., while supplies last.

The program is aligned with late-night convenience store purchasing behaviour, where consumers tend to try new snack formats during off-peak hours.

Company Statement

“For a long time, Canadians have associated KD with familiar flavour and simple preparation,” said Kelly Fleming, Chief Marketing Officer at Kraft Heinz Canada. “KD Ramen builds on that foundation by bringing the same flavour profile into a different category that reflects current eating habits.”

Availability

KD Ramen will roll out across Canada in July and will be located in the ramen aisle of participating retailers.

More information, including sampling locations, is available at kraftdinner.ca or through @KraftDinnerCA on social platforms.
