How to Use Public Transit for Taylor Swift’s Toronto Shows
Taylor Swift’s highly anticipated Eras Tour will soon captivate Toronto with six sold-out performances at the Rogers Centre on November 14-16 and 21-23, 2024. Since over half a million fans plan to visit the city, public transportation offers the most efficient way to travel. Here’s a guide to using the TTC and GO Transit for this unforgettable event.
TTC: Swift Movement in the City

The Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) has prepared several updates to manage the massive influx of concertgoers. Extra services and adjusted routes aim to make your journey to the concert seamless.
Key Subway Stops
St. Andrew and Union Stations on Line 1 Yonge-University provide the closest access to the Rogers Centre. However, both stations will likely experience heavy crowds. To avoid delays, fans should consider alternative stations for their return trip.
Streetcar Services
On concert days, the TTC will increase service on these streetcar routes:
- 19 Bay
- 509 Harbourfront
- 510D Spadina
- 511 Bathurst
Streetcars on these routes will run more frequently from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and again from 11 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. However, Queens Quay station will close at 10 p.m., and streetcars will bypass the station. Fans heading downtown should plan accordingly.
Alternative Routes
To alleviate crowding at Union Station, the TTC recommends these post-concert options:
- 510D Spadina/Swiftbus: Links to Spadina Station for Lines 1 and 2.
- 19 Bay/Swiftbus: Connects to Bay Station on Line 2.
- 504 King/Swiftcar: Provides access to St. Andrew and King Stations on Line 1.
- 509 Harbourfront: Travels west to Exhibition Loop for Lakeshore West GO service.
Wheel-Trans will deploy additional vehicles downtown between 6 p.m. and 2 a.m. to support fans requiring accessibility services.
GO Transit: Smooth Connections for Out-of-Town Fans

For visitors coming from outside Toronto, GO Transit will provide enhanced services to streamline travel on concert days.
Additional Train Services
Metrolinx will add trains to the Lakeshore West and East Lines, ensuring fans can easily access the city. The Milton Line will also offer late-night trips after each concert. Additionally, Metrolinx plans to adjust schedules for the Kitchener, Barrie, and Stouffville Lines to improve service.
Bus Adjustments
Several GO bus routes will change to account for increased downtown traffic. These adjustments will ensure fans can reach their destinations on time.
Union Station Crowds
Union Station will likely become a bottleneck after each concert. To avoid long waits, Metrolinx encourages fans to use alternate stations or allow extra travel time. Walking to less congested stations, such as St. Andrew or King, may also speed up your return trip.
Plan Ahead for a Swift Experience

Toronto’s public transportation network is stepping up to handle the Eras Tour frenzy. Fans relying on the TTC or GO Transit should plan their trips in advance, monitor updates, and give themselves plenty of time. With a little preparation, you’ll enjoy a stress-free commute to one of the most exciting events of the year.
