Dine & Dash Gone Wrong: Brampton Man’s Meltdown Goes Viral (and Now He’s Facing Charges)
Ever had a meal so pricey it made you consider sneaking out the back door? Well, one guy in Brampton actually tried it—and the incident has since gone viral across Ontario, sparking both outrage and legal repercussions. The drama unfolded on September 15, 2024, when a 38-year-old man from Brampton decided to dine and dash at Magnone’s Italian Kitchen at Blue Mountain Resort, leaving behind a $350 tab.
Dine and Dash Gone Wrong
A viral video captured the heated confrontation between the man and a server outside the restaurant. The server accused the man of not paying his bill. The footage, shared widely on social media by internet personality Michael McWhorter (@tizzyent), shows the man shouting threats at the staff, including, “I’ll f**king knock you the f*ck out! You don’t know me.”

The video quickly gained traction, amassing over 3 million views and putting the man at the centre of a social media storm.
However, contrary to initial reports, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) later clarified that the man settled the unpaid bill shortly after the incident. Sources say the man returned to the restaurant, paid the $350, and apologised for his behaviour. Despite this, what happened outside the restaurant has resulted in serious consequences.
The OPP has since charged the man with assault and uttering threats to cause bodily harm. According to the police, the charges stem from his conduct during the altercation outside, not the earlier events inside the restaurant. Police have also taken the unusual step of withholding his name to protect the identity of three children who were dining with him at the time.

Apologies and Backlash
The investigation revealed that the man settled the unpaid bill in full shortly after the incident,” the OPP confirmed. However, his behavior captured on camera has led to legal charges. He is now set to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on October 24, 2024.
Waiter Robbie Martin, who was involved in the confrontation, reported that the group consisted of three adults and three children. “Entrees and drinks were served, and the initial issue was resolved inside the restaurant,” Martin said. “But what happened outside is now the focus of the case.”
OPP Constable Martin Hachey commented on the matter. He stated, “Members of the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains OPP are committed to public safety.” They achieve this by “delivering proactive and innovative policing in partnership with our communities.”
He noted that this case exemplifies effective police work, supported by both the community and social media.
As the man awaits his court date, one thing is clear: it’s stories like these that show how quickly things can spiral out of control, especially when cameras are rolling. So, what’s the takeaway? Always pay your bill, folks—and maybe keep those insults in check.

“Ever had a meal so pricey it made you consider sneaking out the back door?” NOPE. I can read a menu, do math and know my budget. and only a dishonest stupid criminal would sneak out on a bill, esp knowing alot of the time the poor server has to pay it. If you’re surprised by a bill then you are not competent– but this was not sticker shock, this was an arrogant, belligerent criminal. And the bill was $371. For 6 people at a full linen service restaurant.
It happened to me as a server in Yorkville, a patio – i had to cover another servers section in addition to my own, had a walk out and had to pay their bill myself. Guess how i felt about that?
