The Food
Now, let’s talk food! The team we brought to Nuna—our Hungry416 crew of meat lovers, seafood fans, and vegetarians—left absolutely raving. There was something for everyone, and each dish exceeded our expectations, making this spot a real winner for any food preference.
Appetizers That Hit the Spot
- We kicked things off with the Nuna Ceviche—fresh, zesty, and the perfect balance of citrus and seafood. A total flavor bomb!
- The Yuca Croquettes followed, crispy outside and fluffy inside, with a subtle sweetness.
- Lastly, the Shrimp Aljillo—garlicky, juicy shrimp in a rich sauce so good, we couldn’t stop dipping our bread in it.
Dinner: The Showstoppers
- The Octopus Anticuchero? Tender, flavorful, and perfectly cooked, it’s one of those dishes that makes you stop mid-bite and just appreciate the magic happening on your plate.
- The BBQ Pork was equally impressive, juicy and packed with smoky, sweet, and savory flavors.
- For our vegetarian team member, we swapped the Pan Seared Salmon for a delicious mushroom dish, and it was a hit! The mushrooms were perfectly seared, with that deep, savory flavor that made it a standout alternative. Nuna really knows how to cater to all tastes!
And the star of the night? Without a doubt, the tres leches cake—pure dessert heaven! Moist, rich, and absolutely unforgettable. A perfect sweet finish to an amazing meal.
We asked each of our team members to provide some feedback and this is what they had to say:
“Great food, super friendly staff, and they’ve got a hidden back patio with cute decor and lights! Tres leches cake totally stole my heart. They really go all out to make it feel authentically Peruvian.” – Ainsley
“OMG, the octopus anticuchero was so soft, absolutely to die for! Definitely coming back for a date night to try more dishes.” – Kyla
“5/5!! The vibe was awesome. They have a back patio for a more spacious experience. Food was amazinggg! Quality was consistent, and the tres leches cake? Unreal.” – Ramon
The Drinks
Of course, no dining experience is truly complete without a drink. Nuna’s drink menu is just as exciting as their food! Whether you’re in the mood for something adventurous or classic, you’re in for a treat. Their cocktails are infused with Latin-inspired twists like the Pisco Sour (Peruvian national cocktail) that pair perfectly with the menu. Plus, they’ve got an impressive selection of organic wines and local beers for those who want to keep it chill. You can enjoy a refreshing Pisco Sour or sip on a craft beer in the sunshine with drinks that hit all the right notes. This makes Nuna a must-try restaurant in Toronto.
