Kid Sistr Drops Accelerator Ahead of Toronto Show With The Wrecks

· ·

Kid Sistr released the new single “Accelerator” on Oct 9, 2026, days before the Los Angeles trio begins a fall support run with The Wrecks. Toronto gets its turn on Oct 30, 2026, when both bands play The Opera House.

A New Single Built For Speed

The track arrives with the blunt momentum its title promises. Sara, Sabel and Becca play the song as a compact burst of release, turning a familiar urge to get out of town into something restless and physical. The band describes it as “NASCAR if all the drivers were hot gay women in a polycule,” a joke that also captures the song’s mix of speed, flirtation and chaos.

Kid Sistr co-wrote and co-produced the single with Simon Friedhoefer, Katrin Paucz and Suzy Shinn. Shinn also co-produced the group’s five-track spring EP American Teenage Prophecy, released through Giant Music. That project dealt in queer girlhood, romance, rebellion and the uneasy stretch between adolescence and adulthood; “Accelerator” pushes the same point of view into a sharper, louder frame.

Listeners can stream “Accelerator” through the official release link.

The Video Turns The Rush Into a Crime Caper

Directed by Jamal Dauda, the official video follows the trio through a quick-cut crime spree. A liquor-store robbery, a car wash and a confrontation with law enforcement turn the track’s runaway impulse into a compact narrative rather than a standard performance clip.

The humour stays dry, and the pace rarely settles. Sara, Sabel and Becca move as a unit while the video leans into the same exaggerated danger as the song. Watch the official “Accelerator” video.

The Toronto Date Lands at The Opera House

Kid Sistr will open for The Wrecks at The Opera House on Oct 30, 2026. The Queen Street East stop falls just over two weeks after the tour begins and is followed by an Ottawa date on Nov 1, 2026.

The Toronto booking gives local listeners an early chance to hear “Accelerator” in a live set, alongside material from American Teenage Prophecy. Live Nation lists the Toronto event for 6:00 p.m. Ticket prices, inventory and age restrictions should be checked on the official event page before publication and again before heading out.

A Busy Fall For Kid Sistr

The tour keeps the trio on the road through early December, with stops across Canada and the United States. For Kid Sistr, the timing puts a new song in circulation immediately before the band reaches a wider room each night as support for The Wrecks.

That sequence matters more than a long promotional runway. “Accelerator” is built to make an immediate first impression, and the Toronto stop gives the city a close-up while the single is still new.
